The doors on my truck auto-lock once put into gear, this is fine. I cannot open the doors unless I either select un-lock from the switch on the door or turn off the ignition (which the doors automatically un-lock). If I try to open the door at any other time it will not open. All other vehicles I have owned would un-lock and allow you to open the door with the handle if it was locked. Is this normal?
Thanks

Yes, this is normal. You can change the options through the driver info center buttons on the left of your dash. You can turn the lock option off completely, and I think you can have it lock when you hit a certain speed, maybe 15mph, and unlock when you put it in park.

Mark - Is that all you need are the buttons. Is this a plug and play option?

Not sure if this is a plug and play option, it may require a BCM flash, not sure. But it is available at your dealer. Price is $100 for the part, $124 installed SKU#: 19159438. Description states it works with SLE Trim package. I`ll post install the info as soon as I get this done.

try gmpartsdirect.com I didnt have the buttons either, so I bought the part for about $60 or so and did it myself in 5 minutes. there is a plug behind your existing cover, waiting for the cover with the buttons in it. If you can get a part number from the dealer, it will make using the website a whole lot easier.

Purchased the DIC today. Installed in 10 minutes. No BCM flash required. GM Part I listed above is correct #19159438. They only call it a "switch" in the description but it does include the entire plastic panel with the switches already installed.
