Offroad Unlimited introduces new Chevy HD suspension lift for 4x4. Lift clears 40-inch tires.
These days a lot of customized trucks are starting to look like they all came from the same mold. Every now and then, someone breaks the mold and hits us with a fresh look. This is where Off Road Unlimited (ORU) hit the mark with their new IFS to solid axle 4-link coil over conversion kit for GM 2500 & 3500 series 4wd HD trucks.
Make no mistake, this kit isn't for the extreme budget minded, it comes complete with everything you need for the conversion, including, but not limited to a 100 percent bolt-on 4-link setup, massive coil over shocks, hydraulic ram steering assist, nitrogen bump stops, and a new ORU Dana 60 front axle!
With this kit installed, you can easily run 37-40" tires on your rig with no problem. With the added articulation and front locker possibilities, the only thing limiting your adventures will be your vacation time. But seriously, a truck with 11 inches of lift on 40-inch tires never came with a ride so close to the factory suppleness without sacrificing handling or performance.
Almost unnoticeable, (because it's supposed to be that way) is the Warn 16.5k winch nestled between the rear frame rails in a custom mounting. The winch feeds out from behind a flip-up license plate frame and remains out of sight the rest of the time. Of course the winch is for getting other vehicles unstuck. Rumor has it that ORU owner, Maurice Rozo produced a 2wd to 4wd version of this kit with an Atlas Transfer Case that he previewed recently at the 2007 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. One can only hope production is not far behind.
